About the Teleki Castle:

The Teleki Castle was designed in a „U” form and has 52 rooms and 365 windows, each symbolizing the days of the year. The castle is one of the most representative works made in the Transylvanian baroque style and it is surrounded by an impressive arboretum park with exotic tree species. The Teleki Castle was for many centuries a cultural center, where important figures, intellectuals, and artists of the day met and exchanged ideas.

The members of the Teleki Family were important book lovers, Samuel Teleki being the founder of the first public library from Transylvania, nowadays the Telekiana Library from Tirgu Mures. His son, László Teleki founded the library within the castle and, his nephew, József Teleki, continued to collect valuable books throughout his lifetime.

The main event associated with the Art Camp is AWAKE Festival, which will take place between August 15th-18th, 2019, on the Teleki Estate, Gornești. The exhibition is an integrated part of the festival.

AWAKE is the only boutique festival in Romania, which cherishes art in all its forms. The public will not only enjoy live music and concerts, but also outdoor installations, an open-air library, movie screenings, theatre performances, a debate platform on different topics too. The confirmed line-up: Netsky, Pussy Riot, Lady Leshurr, AJ Tracey, De Staat and many more.
